TOUR Championship and British Masters 2026: how our picks actually finished
Eight selections published before play across two tours over the week of 27 August. One of them placed. Here is every finish, unedited, with two disclosures about the data behind them.

Both events finished on Sunday 30 August. ProPlace published four selections in each before a ball was struck, eight in total, and one of the eight placed. It was a losing week on a flat each-way stake.
Below is every one of those eight, beside the finish it produced. Nothing has been edited, reordered or removed. Scottie Scheffler won the TOUR Championship and his second FedEx Cup, and Joe Dean took the British Masters at The Belfry with a maiden DP World Tour title, overturning a seven shot final round deficit.

The receipts
Every selection in both tables was published before the first round on 27 August 2026. Nothing below has been edited since it went out. The model place probability is what our model gave each player to finish inside the places. The market implied place probability is our reconstruction of the same figure from the price, and the disclosure at the foot of this page explains why that reconstruction is softer than a quoted number.

To a flat ten pound each-way stake the eight selections returned minus seventy pounds across the two events. Olesen finishing second was the only return, and it did not cover the seven that missed.

What the week says, and what it does not
Our two highest conviction picks of the week were Schauffele at the TOUR Championship and, level with two others, Hatton and Reed at the British Masters. Schauffele finished 14th, Hatton 46th and Reed 55th. The one that placed, Olesen, was the lowest conviction pick on the board at 8 out of 15. That is not a point in the model's favour and we are not going to present it as one. Over eight selections in one week, conviction ordering tells you nothing.
Eight selections is far too small a sample to conclude anything about the model, good or bad. A week is noise. We write these up because the record only means something if the bad weeks sit in it alongside everything else, not because a single card settles an argument in either direction.

Two disclosures about the data behind this page
Neither of these changes a finish above. Both change how much weight the numbers beside those finishes deserve, so they belong here rather than in a footnote.
One, the prices are estimated. Every price behind this week's eight selections is model-estimated rather than a captured bookmaker price. Our records mark them as estimated, with the source recorded as a simulated outrights model and the verification flag not set. The market implied place probabilities in the tables above are therefore our best reconstruction of the market, not a quoted price you could have taken. If you want the mechanics of that conversion, the implied probability definition sets it out.
Two, the stored place terms need reading with care. Our stored place terms read eight places at one fifth the win odds for both events. For a full field like the British Masters that is a normal each-way term. For the TOUR Championship, a thirty man no-cut field, eight places is too generous a reading and we treat it as an error in our records. It changes nothing on this page. No TOUR Championship selection finished inside the top eight, so no result here depends on the terms, and the one place we recorded was a clear second. We are correcting the metadata where it is wrong and flagging it here rather than quietly fixing it. The place terms entry explains what those fractions do to a return.
