Wyndham Championship 2026: a losing week, in full
Four selections were published on 3 August, three days before the first tee shot. None of them placed. Here is the full record of what went out and what came back.

The Wyndham Championship was a bad week for ProPlace. Four selections were published on 3 August, three days before the first tee shot. None of them placed. To a flat £10 each-way stake that is £80 staked and £80 lost.
We publish these weeks for the same reason we publish the good ones. A research product that only shows you its winners is not showing you anything useful. Below is exactly what went out, exactly what came back, and what we think it says about the model.
The receipts
Published 3 August 2026, before a ball was struck. Place terms were the standard top eight at one fifth of the odds.

What actually went wrong
Three of the four were in the field and playing on the weekend. Jordan Smith at 14th and Doug Ghim at 19th were not disasters, they were simply short. That is the ordinary shape of a losing each-way week: you are not usually miles away, you are a few shots the wrong side of a cut-off that pays nothing for being close.
Harris English missing the cut is the one that stings, because a missed cut is the outcome the model is meant to be least surprised by in a player of his profile.
The honest reading is that Sedgefield rewarded a scoring profile our selections did not have that week. It is one event. Four selections is a small sample and we will not pretend a single week tells you much on its own, in either direction. What we are not going to do
We are not going to change the model because of one bad week. Reacting to four results is how research products quietly turn into guesswork. The selections are generated by the same process every week and that process is judged over a season, not a Sunday. The same applies to the St Jude and Danish Championship fortnight, and to the BMW and Nexo week, published with its receipts, both written up in the same way.
