How do I cancel ProPlace?

Open your account page, choose Manage Subscription, and cancel in the billing portal. There is no notice period, and access runs to the end of the period you have already paid for.

By Doug Dinwiddie. Founder of ProPlace. Former DP World Tour caddie.

Sign in, open your account page, and choose Manage Subscription. That opens the secure billing portal, and you can cancel there yourself. There is no notice period, no cancellation fee, and no need to email anybody first. We would rather you left easily than stayed by accident.

The steps

  • Sign in to ProPlace.
  • Go to your account page.
  • Choose Manage Subscription, which opens the billing portal.
  • Cancel the subscription there and follow the confirmation on screen.

The same button is where you update a card or fix a failed payment, so if the reason you are here is a payment that bounced rather than a decision to leave, that is the place to sort it. If the portal will not open for you for any reason, use the contact page and we will handle it.

Notice periods and exit fees

No. Nothing has to be given in advance and there is no exit charge. Cancelling stops the renewal, which means the subscription simply does not bill again.

What happens to access you have already paid for

Cancelling stops the next payment rather than closing the door on the spot. The subscriber pages, the ranked field, the player deep dives and the live tracker, stay open until the end of the period you have already paid for. On a monthly plan at £20 that is the rest of that month. On the annual plan at £200 it is the rest of that year. The billing portal shows the date access runs to.

If you are weighing monthly against annual before deciding anything, the pricing page walkthrough sets out both plans and the £40 difference between them.

If you are still on the free trial

There is nothing to cancel. The trial runs for seven days and takes an email address only, with no card details, so no payment method exists to stop. If you decide ProPlace is not for you, close the tab and nothing happens. What happens on day eight covers exactly which pages close and which stay open, and what the trial actually includes is worth reading before you start rather than after.

What you keep afterwards

Cancelling does not delete your account and it does not shut you out of the public side of the site. One complete research card from the current field goes up every Monday at the free card page, free to read with no email address required, and you can leave an address there if you would rather it arrived in your inbox each week. The results archive, the blog and the glossary stay open too.

Coming back later

Your account stays where it is. When you want subscriber access again, sign in, open the account page and choose a plan. Nothing needs rebuilding. A full list of what a subscription covers is a reasonable place to start if you are deciding whether it is worth returning for.

Frequently asked questions

How do I cancel ProPlace?
Sign in, open your account page and choose Manage Subscription. That opens the secure billing portal, where you can cancel. You do not need to email anyone, although the contact page is there if the portal will not open for you.
Is there a notice period?
No. There is no notice period and no cancellation fee. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you are currently in.
Do I keep access until the end of the period I paid for?
Yes. Cancelling stops the next payment rather than cutting off the current period, so subscriber pages stay open until the period you have already paid for runs out.
Do I need to cancel a free trial?
No. The seven day trial takes an email address only and no card details, so nothing is charged and there is nothing to cancel. If you do nothing, subscriber access simply closes.
Can I come back later?
Yes. Your account stays in place after cancelling, and you can choose a plan again from the account page whenever you want to.
